Marbella nightlife top spots
Marbella has been known for its vibrant social scene and the “Marbella Nightlife” for many many years – from the “old days” when the Spanish and international JET-SETTERS came down to this part of the Costa del Sol to party, see and be seen, to today´s rich and famous who come on vacation or to support charity balls and events together with the rest of us visitors and local luxury seekers looking for a memorable experience in unparalleled surroundings.
Much has changed over the years but Marbella continues to offer some incredible venues and events to be enjoyed as well as catering for all tastes. And, on top of that, you can experience the Marbella “buzz” all year round – no doors closing down here during the winter months!
What better place than Marbella to enjoy lazy days by the pool or on the beach, then heading back to get all decked out and prettied up for a night out on the town, spent with nearest and dearest, friends, or friends-to-be?!
Below are Mary´s suggestions for holiday makers as well as residents for a great night out in Marbella – a destination that simply has it all, waiting to welcome you with open doors and open arms!!
The Marbella Social Scene: Mary´s Top 5 Nights out in Marbella
Plaza Village at Puente Romano Hotel
Enjoy a cocktail at the Plaza Bar and then choose one of the five super restaurants for dinner:
Bibo: Andalusian Brasserie and Tapas (by Dani García, Michelin Star holder)
Cocina Contradición: Dani Garcia Gourment Restaurant
End the evening off with drinks and good music in the sophisticated Suite Night Club, with outdoor terrace.
Here you have everything under one roof! Enjoy cocktails in beautiful, exclusive surroundings, followed by a memorable gourmet dinner in one of the most charming restaurants in Marbella. Finish off the evening with music and drinks out on the terrace, open in summer and enclosed in winter but always with the same classy atmosphere. Drink, Dine, Dance… and enjoy!!
Although it sits right on the beach and you can dig your toes into the sand, Trocadero Arena is most definitely not a “chiringuito”!! It is simply a magnificent restaurant and lounge on the beach. Enjoy a pre-dinner drink or cocktail at the Beach Club, then a relaxed meal with the sound of the sea lapping on the shore. Fabulous cuisine offering Mediterranean delights fused with hints of Asia. Trocadero Arena also offers special evenings with live music to enhance your dining experience even further!
Enjoy magnificent, unparalleled surroundings at Villa Tiberio, known for its impressive Italian gardens stretching out of 6,000m2 with waterfalls and walkways, and marble statues interspersed between lush palm trees, sub-tropical plants and vegetation. In summer the gardens are bursting with colour and the sweet scent of roses, lilac blossom, lilies and lemons. This is most definitely the place for romantic “al fresco” dining in summer and classy, sumptuous evenings in winter. Villa Tiberio offers a superior dining experience and owner, Sandro Morelli ,will surely welcome you as if you had just walked into his very own living room!
Marbella Club Hotel Grill and Terrace Restaurant
In summer, step into the Marbella Club Hotel terrace bar for a pre-dinner drink and live music before heading on into the fabulous terrace restaurant for a meal you will never forget. In winter, enjoy a glass of the “golden liquid” in the magnificent Champagne Room, accompanied by sophisticated snacks (!) or before going in for dinner. The Champagne Room offers live jazz evenings in these classic and traditional surroundings where you will definitely be and feel pampered. The Marbella Club really does have a “magic all of its own”.
For all the above, here are 4 basic hints!!!
1. DO: dress to Impress – you can really go for it!!
2. DO: be cool, enjoy subtle people watching, enjoy just being there
3. DON´T: be an amateur paparazzi taking photos of the famous faces around you!
4. DON´T: forget your VISA card – none of the above is exactly “cheap”… but…. You´re worth it!!!
